Arrow Academy LOVES hosting our locals to present their jobs to our students! Ms. Collins and I host visitors every year for the students to learn about and appreciate our community.
Ms. Sykora's Classroom
We will be sending home Read Every Day Folders (R.E.D. Folders) for students to have books on their level to read at home. It is required for them to read at least 20 minutes each evening with an older family member or parent. This reading at home is essential to their academic growth in both reading and writing skills! The books are simple and we have even included some example questions for families to make it easier on y’all!
Students have been instructed on how to take care of, read, and bring back their SIGNED form each night. They will turn it in for stickers & once they hit 5/10/20 nights that they’ve read, they will earn tickets to spend at school! We make this a HUGE deal to them because their work at home really effects their growth in school!

First grade finished up their reading unit over the human body! Key takeaways were about taking care of our body and staying healthy. Students got to taste, describe, and categorize healthy snacks with Ms. Collins!
After completing our Ancient Greek Civilizations unit, second grade got to participate in our very own Olympic Games! We got to recreating Greek architecture, running a "marathon", and designing their own Olympic medals all competing for a different ancient Greek city.

2. Reading every night will give a HUGE advantage to your student when it comes to their growth in reading & in writing!
