Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update: Arrow Academy Campuses Closed Through the Remainder of the 2019-2020 School Year

Update 4/20/2020

Dear Arrow Academy Family,

The Governor of Texas closed schools physically for face-to-face instruction for all schools in Texas through the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. However, Arrow Academy will continue remote and digital learning through May 22, 2020 as required by the Texas Education Agency.

Therefore, our teachers will continue to use current systems and structures in place to deliver digital and remote instruction. Thank you, parents, for helping your child learn at home!  With your ongoing support for the Arrow Way At-Home Learning, we will finish this school year strong.  Our teachers will continue to make weekly contact with you. If you have any questions or concerns regarding online or remote learning, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

The health and well-being of Arrow Academy students, staff and our community remains the unrelenting priority of Arrow Academy. If you or a household member have been diagnosed with COVID-19 (coronavirus) please send us an email at: [email protected].

Arrow Academy will continue providing the Grab and Go Meals program as well as school supplies, workbooks, and online and remote learning opportunities for all of our scholars. We have distributed hundreds of Chromebooks to our families for ongoing learning opportunities digitally and remotely.

We are working on a summer bridge program to extend the Arrow Way At-Home Learning opportunity for the summer months. More details about this option will be coming soon. The district leadership team is focused on planning for the reopening of school in August and how we will make up for any lost learning due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Thank you to the hundreds of families that have re-enrolled.  We are now filling slots from our waitlists and Arrow Academy is expecting a record-breaking enrollment year. If you have not already done so, please go to www.arrowacademy.org and click on the Enrollment button. Your school will contact you as space becomes available for enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year.

We miss the students so much and appreciate your support. We will continue to keep you informed via School Messenger, the district website and social media for updated information. Thank you for your continued partnership during this time.

Update 4/1/2020

Dear Arrow Academy Family,

The Governor of Texas declared Texas schools must remain closed until Friday, May 1st. Arrow Academy has tentatively scheduled Monday, May 4, 2020, as the first day of in-class instruction. However, the district will continue to mobilize efforts to provide students with remote and digital learning experiences. This is a fluid situation and the school district leadership team will reevaluate the closure during the week of April 27th and keep you informed via School Messenger, website, and social media.

Over the past couple of weeks, Arrow Academy teachers have been delivering digital and remote instruction and/or workbooks or classroom packets for learning. The plan is to continue to offer these learning opportunities for our students. We ask for your patience and understanding as our team continues to navigate the many details of this unprecedented situation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding online learning, please reach out to your child’s teacher. If you do not have internet access, please go to www.arrowacademy.org and learn how you can get free internet services for qualified households.

The health and well-being of Arrow Academy students, staff and our community remains the unrelenting priority of Arrow Academy. We will continue providing the Grab and Go Meals program as well as school supplies, workbooks, and online and remote learning opportunities for all of our scholars. Coming soon, we will offer our scholars Chromebooks to use at home.

If you have not already done so, please complete the re-enrollment process for the 2020-2021 school year to ensure you remain eligible for all of the services that we provide to families. Please go to www.arrowacademy.org, scroll down the page and click on the Re-Enrollment for Current Students button. Thank you for your continued partnership and your sacrifice during this time. We miss the students so much and appreciate your support.

March 17, 2020

Dear Arrow Academy Family:

Arrow Academy Houston area campuses will remain closed to students through Friday, April 10, 2020.  Arrow Academy Bryan, TX campus will remain closed to students through Friday April 10, 2020. We will then make decisions about additional days of school closures on a weekly basis as needed.  However, the district will continue to mobilize efforts to provide students with varied at home learning opportunities and digital learning experiences.

To close school was a difficult decision that was made in an effort to support the state and nation’s need to flatten the exposure curve associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. Our region has continued to see an increasing number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 and health officials report that this number is expected to increase, as more testing is made available.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has outlined the need for all communities to implement a social distancing protocol. Additionally, the federal government has provided a recommendation that the community should limit group gatherings. In light of these factors, and additional guidance from local, state and national authorities, we feel that this is the most appropriate decision for our students, staff, families and our community as a whole.

Over the coming days, Arrow Academy instructional team and teachers will finalize plans as they prepare for long-term delivery of varied instructional options to meet the needs of our students. Your child’s campus will be reaching out to share details about how to access these lessons and learning opportunities for students. We ask for your patience and understanding as our team continues to navigate the many details of this unprecedented situation.

Please continue to monitor your email as well as Arrow Academy’s website and social media for more information on campus closures, varied options of instructional delivery, details about our food service programs available for students and the reenrollment process for the 2020-2021 school year.

Thank you for making Arrow Academy your school of choice. Please be assured that we remain deeply committed to the safety and well-being of our students, teachers, staff members, families, and our community as a whole.
